Police Alert -- Burglary to Motor Vehicles in Oswego

Over the summer, there has been a significant increase in the number of burglary to motor vehicle reports taken in the Village. These crimes have been occurring during the late evening or early morning hours. Several unlocked vehicles in our subdivisions have been victimized. Your cooperation is being requested so that these types of crime stop.

• Report ALL suspicious circumstances and criminal activity to the Oswego Police Department immediately. You can remain anonymous, if you desire. The information you provide may be the key to solving crime in your neighborhood.

• Be alert of any suspicious vehicles or persons lingering around your home in the street or in your subdivision. Crimes like burglary to motor vehiclse usually occur during the late evening or early morning hours under the cover of darkness.

• Lock your vehicle when it is parked and unattended.
 
• Outdoor lighting can act as a deterrent in some cases.

• Remove your valuables (e.g. I-Pods, GPS, laptop computers, C.D. cases, etc.) from your vehicle at night.

• Most people are not out for a leisurely stroll after midnight. While some people do walk late for legitimate reasons, a vast majority are not. Report late night activity to the police.

Next Meeting

Board Meetings are usually held on the fourth Tuesday of each even month; however, the next one is scheduled for Tuesday, August 31st at 7:00 p.m. at Allied First Bank on Orchard Road. All Blackberry Knoll residents are welcome to attend.
